Can I claim the HST I pay on office supplies?
Under the regular method, you can generally claim input tax credits for HST paid on supplies you use in your business, as long as you keep the receipts. Under the Quick Method, everyday supplies are not claimed separately; RC4058 allows ITCs mainly on capital assets such as computers and on real property. See Quick Method vs regular method and CRA RC4058.
How long should I keep receipts and bookkeeping records?
CRA generally expects you to keep your books and records, including receipts that support your GST/HST returns, for six years. A receipt book, a labelled filing box and a scanner make that easier. Source: CRA RC4058.
Are the prices on this page current?
